Courtney Schutter: Website for ADHD Coach

As a copywriter + introvert + self-diagnosed ADHD person, meeting ADHD coach Courtney Schutter through a virtual networking hangout was a breath of fresh air.

I immediately loved her fun personality and mission to help ADHD parents tackle the demands of multiple responsibilities through coaching. We stayed connected on LinkedIn, and one day her name popped up in my messages with a request to possibly work together, I may or may not have squealed in excitement.

Okay, I squealed! This is a no-squeal-shame-zone, cool? Cool.

The challenge:

Courtney had written her own website by following a CRM course that’s designed to train coaches in writing sales-focused website copy in their own words. Unfortunately, Courtney didn’t feel like it sounded like her no matter how much she tried, and we agreed it could use some help.

She had also watched endless YouTube videos and looked at other coaches' websites to get inspiration, but it still wasn’t working. She didn’t feel that way when writing blogs, but taking on her website was a different challenge.

Of course, I was stoked to help, and later asked Courtney what prompted her to reach out and try working with a professional copywriter. She said, “I had been connected with you for a while on LinkedIn, then subscribed to your email list and just really enjoyed your writing. I felt like we had enough things in common (particularly our sense of humor) that I believed in your ability to write something that was very me.”

The solution:

We kicked off with a thorough survey so I could get to know her personality, work style, voice, goals, and stories. Her clients also filled out a feedback form to capture their experience with Courtney so I had the foundation to speak well to her ideal client in a way that was authentic to her. We dug a little deeper in a 90 minute kick off call, and I got to work!

I sorted through all the survey answers, drank a questionable amount of caffeine, and chipped away at her website copy. Since I had so much great information to pull from, I only had a couple clarifying questions that were answered quickly via email. It was the most seamless website project I’ve done yet!

I sent off Courtney’s copy and pretended to be cool as a cucumber as I awaited her response. She responded with “I absolutely love it!” and “I can’t think of any changes.”

WOW. Dream clients do exist. 😂

She added the updated copy to her website to make sure it still resonated on the page, and it did! She even said “I had my new copy up for 1 day and already had someone booking an appointment with zero contact from me!”

YESSSS! I’m so glad Courtney feels confident in her new website and can’t wait to see the bookings rolling in on her new website.

Throughout this process I learned that writing websites is way more fun when people full of personality like Courtney are involved.
